It’s that time! Christmas shopping …. we all face that annual dilemma of “what-am-I-gonna-get-so-and-so”. But hopefully we can help spark some ideas.
I spent most of my weekend shopping for Christmas decorations because I’m a little obsessed. My budget-friendly fake tree just isn’t enough, so I needed a mini Cyprus and a wreath to get into the spirit.
I love the smell of real pine …. Now I can focus on my REAL shopping list.
Here are some unique ideas for that special person on your to-do list. Let’s start shopping!
Reclaimed Ballpark Cuff Links | $179.95 and up, redenvelope.com
A perfect gift for a sports fan! When those banners and jerseys are just too cliche, get him his very own piece of the game – cuff links made from old sports stadiums! (I got these for Tom, the ultimate Phillie’s fan, so he can wear Shibe Park on his wrists for fancy occasions.)
Herb Wreath – a decorative and edible gift
Herb Wreath | $49.95, WilliamsSonoma.com
For the cook in the family, this dried herb wreath from a farm in California is beautiful, fragrant, and useful. It can be hung as decor and then pieces snipped off when cooking. A smaller and cheaper option is their Herbal Swag, which Kiley got me for my birthday – I use it all the time!
Gourmet Gift Baskets | $79.99, Berries.com
A practical and delicious gift basket for the hostess, relative, or someone who just needs a little something.
Nuts Gift Tray | $12.99 and up, nuts.com
For a more customized gift basket, send someone only their favorite snacks in a nuts.com platter. Choose a gift tray or create your own from any kind and flavor of nuts, as well as dried fruits, chocolates, and more!
Magazine subscription | discounts available at magazines.com
A simple and affordable gift for someone with a special interest is a one-year magazine subscription. Food, golf, new magazines like (my favorite) HGTV, or any area of interest is a personal way to give the old-fashioned gift of print.
charity:water Donation card | $40, charitywater.org
For the one that truly has everything and no need for frills, a donation card in honor of him or her is a perfect way to pass the love on to someone who needs it. I recommend this simple, well-designed donation card from my favorite charity which will help bring clean drinking water to others around the world.
And when you’re shopping online, don’t forget to use Ebates or Mr. Rebates to earn cash back while you shop. (They literally send you a check!)
Happy holidays!
