The Bachelorette Bash

Adventures· NYC· Wine

It’s wedding season! Just a week ago, we were celebrating the marriage of Tom’s twin sister, wed in Philadelphia to her high school sweetheart.

But a new weekend means new celebrations (and more brides).  On Saturday, the girls and I headed to the Hamptons (via limo) to celebrate my best friend’s soon-to-be-eliminated singleness. This was the last big hurrah before her August wedding, and so we partied our way through the wineries in honor of Nicole’s Bachelorette Bash.

Despite a rocky departure (always Yelp your limo company before booking) we successfully made it to our first stop in the North Fork – Paumanok Vineyards. Since we were 40 minutes behind schedule, this was a few quick sips out on the deck, overlooking the gorgeous vineyards.

Next, we traveled just down the road to Laurel Lakes.  This was a great vineyard stop to relax, chat, and eat lunch, catered by the local Love Lane Kitchen.  (I had actually visited Love Lane last year on my Hamptons trip!)  After an amazing lunch of sandwiches and pasta salad, we were feeling the wine enough to take some pictures with the vines.  We got photo happy, with the bride front and center…

And of course, the always punny Danielle took a vine video – pun intended.  It pretty much summed up this leg of our tour.

For our final stop on Long Island, we saved the best for last.  Vineyard 48 is known as the “fun” winery, which feels more like a club … or at least a beer garden.  I will call it a wine garden.  Complete with a DJ, hand stamps, plastic tokens that will get you wine in plastic cups, and sand pails – yes, sand pails – full of sangria, this is really the place to be for a bachelorette party.

Finally, the limo driver somehow got us back to the city for dinner at The Park. My bed was extra comfortable that night, but I think the adventure was a success.

Happy Wedding (and Birthday!) Nicole!
